“The subject disappears and reappears through the tearing of glued paper, the will to unsettle the drawing and make it vanish.”
The subject only disappears because it already exists on the canvas - before. But before what? The whole work is a search for the “earlier” subject. It then appears through viewpoints that converge into a single prism. What remains is a mystery that must be caught by surprise.
